David Eldridge (and his lifelong friend and sidekick Bryson) let Ryan hang out with them AND grab David’s senior portraits. David is one of five boys in a family that is generous, rugged, and anchored by their superhero mom – Stacy. In the land of men, she is not just the elder, but the Queen and I’ve admired her for years.
Back to David!! He and Bryson are all man, all about the outdoors and all about farm life and being real. Having Bryson around loosened David up, made him less self-conscious and the pair cracked each other up and were able to relax. (Ryan too had a ball.) In fact, Ryan and I commented that in some of these photos the pair reminded him of a country music duo shooting an album cover… think Tyler Childers or Chris Stapleton. There’s no cynicism with these two, just friendship and a sense that simplicity in all things is best.
There was no second choice for this location of this session – it was going to be outside and on the family farm. Senior portraits are an important milestone and we’ve captured older brother Gage’s portraits a couple of years ago.
We’ve shot images of this family for a decade. The most recent took place with members of both the Eldridge and Wood families, but we started years ago, when the boys really were just that – boys.
Congratulations, David and the class of 2021! We are so proud of you!
We love family portraits whether they are set in the studio, the great outdoors, a specific location like the mountains or high country, or on our property in our outdoor portrait garden. Pixels on Paper photographs newborns and families, special events and portraits of all kinds in our Wilkesboro, NC studio. We would be honored to meet with you, learn about you and your family and be a part of taking special portraits that will become, we hope, family heirlooms.

Autumn is the perfect time to take portraits of your senior year students in high school. While prom season and the late spring are also popular for these portraits, the cool weather and new warm back to school clothes entice families to book sessions that can happen outdoors. It’s the final year and great expectations lie ahead, so why not a fall session?
We can shoot senior year portraits any time you like, but have scheduled shoots for spring and fall more often than other times of year. The photos above are of 3 siblings during their senior years. Their mom made it a priority and has thanked us many times for capturing photos of her “babies” – now grown!
Setting the stage is fun and – no surprise – seniors have personalities and opinions, so whether it’s on the Blue Ridge Parkway, in the woods, on the ball field where they played their favorite sport, in someone’s backyard, at our studio or another special spot – we can accommodate the vision. And clearly, dress code should be what expresses who they are as they venture forth after graduation.
We love family portraits whether they are set in the studio, the great outdoors, a specific location like the mountains or high country, or on our property in our outdoor portrait garden. Pixels on Paper photographs, engagements and weddings, brides, and special events and portraits of all kinds in our Wilkesboro, NC studio. We would be honored to meet with you, learn about you and your family and be a part of taking special portraits that will become, we hope, family heirlooms.

This Class of 2014 North Wilkes High School Senior, was a dream to photograph for her senior portraits. Tiffany loves horses and spending time outdoor in the country. She gets the biggest grin whenever she spends time with animals and dreams of one day becoming a marine biologist. It only seemed appropriate to involve all the things she loves into her senior session at this beautiful farm with the NC Mountains providing a perfect backdrop.
And since Tiffany and her parents didn’t like the boring cap and gown photos taken at her school, she brought those items along and we created photos that were a lot more fun and announcement worthy. We hope you enjoy these as much as we enjoyed creating them!
Here is a look at the printed 5×7 double-sided Graduation Announcement we created for Tiffany.

We had the opportunity again this year to be the sole provider of photography and participate along with other outstanding vendors in Wilkesboro and North Wilkesboro NC during the 3rd annual All About Prom campaign. Beginning in December eligible representatives from each of five Wilkes County high schools competed to be ambassadors and later prom models. Prom Model winners were given a full day of glamour, pampering and the high fashion model experience in exchange for representing all the event sponsors and their services.
Each girl was fitted with a complete glamorous wardrobe by Bridal Traditions Wedding and Prom attire that included dress, shoes, and jewelry accessories. Kristin Lyall of Stillwaters Salon & Day Spa transformed each girl with glamour makeup, that was uniquely created to coordinate with the formal dresses they would be wearing. Claire Powell also of Stillwaters Salon styled each model’s hair using fashion forward techniques that were ahead of the trends. The finishing touch added to each model were unique floral accessories designed by Denise Brooks of Innovative Occasions. Denise took the old tradition of corsage and boutonnieres to a whole new level.

With this year’s photo shoot campaign being later in the season than our previous events, portraits were photographed both inside the studio and outside on-location throughout Wilkesboro. Ryan and Misty both took turns all day photographing each model and making each one truly experience the Pixels On Paper Photography difference both on set and later when seeing their final photos.
