We are thrilled to once again have a featured wedding in Carolina Bride Magazine. Carolina Bride is one of the most widely read wedding resources in the Charlotte, NC region. Our clients and friends, Rachel and Jeremy McAdoo’s wedding is featured as a spread in the April/June 2013 issue. The article titled “Family Ties” describes their wedding event and story of how these two love birds met and started their life together as a new family unit. Wedding photos by Pixels On Paper from their wedding venue at the Holiday Inn Center City Charlotte Rooftop Rotunda are shown in the article as well as photos Pixels took at various locations in and around Uptown Charlotte.

We’ve worked in the Charlotte wedding industry with Rachel for many years. When it was her turn to be married and she asked Pixels On Paper to be her and Jeremy’s wedding photographer for their Charlotte wedding we were thrilled and honored that she would choose us. This wedding was one of the most emotionally touching and enthusiastic weddings we’ve photographed.
Rachel and Jeremy’s story is unique in that their love did not only involve each other but also Rachel’s daughter Sophia. A short time after Rachel gave birth to Sophia, Rachel was encouraged by her sister to get back into the dating world. Through EHarmony she met Jeremy. We all know a lot of guys that would freak out at this situation and after the first date never be heard from again. Jeremy is not one of those guys. They got to know each other for about a week, went on one date and cancelled their E-harmony memberships! Sophia joined them for their second date and it was obvious that they were meant to become an incredible little family.
Photographing this wedding was easy. In part because Rachel was the wedding planner for the Holiday Inn Center City Charlotte. Lets face it, she had thought of everything and was crazy organized! The main reason it was easy to be their wedding photographer was because the whole day in Charlotte was full of emotion, energy, details and LOVE. We think that even if you don’t personally know this couple you will surely feel the moments we captured in their wedding pictures.
Rachel and Jeremy chose to share a First Look before the wedding ceremony so that they could have a private moment before their wedding and also get as many photographs taken so that they could go to their wedding reception and start celebrating with their wedding guests sooner. We loved photographing this moment between the two of them discreetly from a distance.
The wedding ceremony was located on the roof top rotunda of the Holiday Inn Center City Charlotte. Sophia seemed to be celebrating during the ceremony just as much as Rachel and Jeremy. During their vows Jeremy also made a commitment to Sophia and gave her a necklace during the ceremony as a sign of his love to her.
We captured wedding pictures of the couple and their wedding party in and around the Holiday Inn Center City Charlotte, at one of the new center city parks in uptown Charlotte, and along the tracks of the Charlotte Lynx Light Rail which they used as transportation to the wedding reception.
The wedding reception was located just outside of uptown Charlotte at Byron’s Southend. The Michael Catlow Group provided DJ entertainment that had the wedding party and guests celebrating on the dance floor all night.
We wish Rachel, Jeremy and Sophia all the very best that life and marriage has to offer. Remember, our blog loves comments!

It’s amazing to get to document through photos the important moments of so many people’s lives. Photographing the announcement of a baby is so very special, especially for a couple that like many others have had difficulty. Since getting that first phone call from Nikki I knew this would be something special. Our pre portrait session consult was filled with hope, thankfulness of the blessing she has received and a few lumps in my throat as she explained her and her husband’s journey to have a child. Nikki and Chris fully realize and appreciate the importance of portraits to capture these moments that document the journey. She mentioned to me that because she doesn’t know when or if they will have another child she doesn’t want any regrets or missed opportunities. She seriously even appreciates the experience of morning sickness!
Nikki is a beautiful mama. I love her smile and her outlook on life. Her creativity and eagerness to spread the love combined with the tenderness and affection that Chris shows as he cares for her is going to make the next 9 months of photos an absolute thrill. Not to mention their adorable fur-baby Diamond, a precious English Bulldog who makes her Pixels portrait debut helping to announce baby Huffman. Because of our complete Baby Package, Pixels On Paper is going to be their photographer all along the way including baby announcement photos, maternity photography, newborn portraits, six months and first year portraits.
We’ve compiled photos from their Baby Is Coming photography session to create this short video. Hope you enjoy it!
Below are the precious 5×5 tri-fold custom baby announcements we designed and printed for Nikki and Chris to mail.
All of these photographs were captured at our portrait studio in the NC High Country in Wilkesboro, NC at 1198 Curtis Bridge Road. We had the opportunity again this year to participate with six other special event vendors in Wilkesboro and be the sole provider of photography for the 2nd annual All About Prom event. For two weeks in December representatives from each of five Wilkes County high schools competed on Facebook to be selected as the Prom Model to represent their school. Winners were given a full day of glamour, pampering and the high fashion model experience in exchange for representing all that the event sponsors have to offer in the latest prom fashions and services. Each girl was fitted with two complete glamorous wardrobes by Bridal Traditions Wedding and Prom attire that included dress, shoes, and jewelry accessories. Intricate matching nail design using everything from crystals to glitter were created by Valery Guevara of Blossom Salon & Butterfly Boutique. Dominique Nunn also of Blossom Salon transformed each girl with glamour makeup, sometimes incorporating feathers and sequins, that was uniquely created to coordinate with the formal dresses they would be wearing. Andrea Hunt of Cut Ups Salon styled each model’s hair using fashion forward techniques that were ahead of the trends. The finishing touch added to each model as she entered our studio portrait sets were unique floral accessories designed by Denise Brooks of Innovative Occasions. Denise took the old tradition of corsage and boutonnieres to a whole new level. What’s a fashion photo shoot without a professional videographer on set? Shaun Cardwell of Divine Treasures Videography captured moving images and created a stunning short film of the day.Three completely custom photo backdrops were designed at the Pixels On Paper portrait studio. Ryan and Misty both took turns all day photographing each model and making each one truly experience the Pixels On Paper difference both on set and later when seeing their final photos. Pixels offers unique and creative portrait photography. Forget about those horribly traditional photos made during prom where they make you say cheese and place you in a stiff traditional pose. Pixels will make sure you have a blast getting great photos that make you feel and look like a Rock Star or High Fashion Model. Call Pixels On Paper at 336-990-0080 to schedule a Prom Portrait Session now!

We are so very delayed in completing a blog post that recaps the photos of our client’s and friends from 2012. You can’t possibly understand how difficult it is to look back through every photo session from last year and pick favorites. It’s February but it’s also better late than never! We continue to feel incredibly blessed that so many each and every year trust us to photograph and capture the most important memories of their lives. We met some amazing people, felt like a part of so many of these people’s lives, and more often than not were right there along side of them having just as much fun. We gained numerous friendships last year. 2012 brought engagement pics, wedding pictures, senior portraits, family portraits, newborn photography, photos of children, pet pics, and commercial photography. We even added studio portraits for the first time in the history of Pixels On Paper! We are inpatient when it comes to figuring out what 2013 will bring and excited about the photographs we will capture.
The following are our personal favorite images from each of those we photographed in 2012. Enjoy the view!
