There are more than a few inspirational quotes about girls. Girls and cars. Girls about to become brides. Girls and their dreams. Girls being domestic. Girls being daring, etc. So we’d like to pause here and let you conjure your favorite lines or even images…
Done? Ok. So meet this glorious girl, Jamie Goforth, now Jamie Harrison. Her wedding was October of this year, [you’ll have to stand by for the photos of the day], but THIS DAY in August was just about her. We photographed Jamie at the home of a family member in Wilkes county and her mom, grandma, great-aunt and great-uncle all came with her to enjoy the experience and watch her.
The views were spectacular as they tend to be in late summer in the western part of NC, and Jamie looked so fresh and happy. Honestly, this day seemed to increase her excitement about her wedding day. Every bride deserves a day as BRIDE that isn’t her wedding day, don’t you think? The wedding day blur is exhilarating yet inevitable, so we love being able to spend time with brides (and their family members and pals) before the actual nuptials.
I mentioned the views, but the entire home was perfect for showcasing a girl just about to start a new chapter. In particular, the pair above where she appears to be the queen of the estate, but still so young and fresh and contemplative.
Jamie’s family loves antique cars and they have a large collection, so including one in the portrait session was an easy and fun choice. She had a huge assortment to choose from, too. While classic cars are as different as individual girls, her groom is a big fan of the convertible red classic Thunderbird. Photographing her elegantly draped over it was too fun and it is a shot that any car guy can love and appreciate.
We look forward to showing off their wedding pics soon, but in the meantime, we encourage those who are planning proposals this season and want to capture it, those who are engaged and need portraits of you and your fiancé(e), brides-to-be or couples planning a spring or summer wedding, contact us. We’d love to help make your day perfect by ensuring you get the best portraits. Visit Pixels online or call us 336.990.0080.
The brilliant Nat King Cole sang, “When I fall in love …. it will be forever.” For Meghan and Jeremy Arnold, this is absolutely true and demonstrated daily. It began when they fell in love (we photographed their engagement portraits and their amazing wedding in Charlotte in 2012) and that love continues in their unreasonably cute daughter, Berklee. Since their wedding, they’ve driven from Virginia to have us shoot Miss Berklee’s newborn session and later, back in Charlotte, asked us to capture her 6 month portraits. This is a couple with deep family traditions and a strong sense of the way they want to create their own family. They think of loving details for every event in their lives (a bag-piper played as part of their wedding recessional for instance, and we saw more than one pair of argyle socks as a nod to their Irish heritage) and we love complimenting those details with our own suggestions. In keeping with this, Meghan brought her wedding veil and Celtic inspired headpiece which we included in our newborn shots of Berklee. We received this trio to our outdoor studios in Wilkesboro last month for Berklee’s 6 month session. Once again, we collaborated and Meghan brought a yellow dress that she wore during her own 6 month portraits back in the day. The results melted all of our hearts. We had so much fun setting up with them outside and watching the many faces of Baby Berklee. Apparently, Jeremy was accused of making funny noises to elicit expressions from his little girl. It worked.
The pictures just above – especially the one on the right – are funny, darling, delicious … and we all cracked up upon review. Meghan said, “She really worked the cam!” If we could caption her in repose, it would be something like, “Mmmmm. Feels good to put my dogs up, relax, lean back and I may need a beverage. Anyone interested in finding a bottle with my name on it?”
Meghan thanked us for our patience, but we love this work or we wouldn’t do it. Also, thank you!

We are so far behind on blogging already this year. Honestly it’s because blogging is very low on our priority list. The 2013 Spring photography season is here and we are in full swing at a fast passed sprint. Because of that, rather than writing blogs, it’s more important to us to provide excellent customer service to our clients and make sure their photos are being edited, PreView Sessions are being had, wall art and albums are being created and delivered in a fast turnaround time. All those reasons aside, we know our followers still want to see more large images and read about all the wedding photos we’ve been taking and the portrait photography we’ve been creating. Just to give you a little taste of what we’ve been up to, here are some peeks at what you will hopefully soon be seeing in full posts on the blog.
We weren’t available to photograph Alisha’s wedding photos but that didn’t stop her from using Pixels On Paper to photograph her Bridal Portraits which we uniquely styled with some of our collection of antiques and photographed right outside our Wilkesboro, NC portrait studio.
Stephanie is a property manager and needed new headshot photography for her company’s website and for use in their print advertising.
Caroline and Andy live in Boston and were married in Caroline’s hometown of Elkin, NC. Pixels On Paper communicated with them long distance to coordinate and provide all of their wedding photography.
Rose Glen Village Senior Living needed commercial photography for a new website that is being designed by a Greensboro based advertising agency. Pixels On Paper collaborated with both Rose Glen and the Ad agency. We had a really fun day hanging out with many of Rose Glen’s residents and capturing lifestyle photography, everyday living in their homes and social environment.
Sarah and Jeremy will be getting married on June 1st. But before that we wanted to get to know them even better by photographing their engagement photos. This entire session was photographed right outside our portrait studio in the NC Mountains.
We captured some gorgeous Charlotte wedding photos for Ashley and Phil who had their wedding in Uptown Charlotte on the Holiday Inn Center City Rooftop Rotunda.
Kristie and Trey will be getting married in July. Their engagement photos gave us an opportunity to see how comfortable they were in front of our camera and get them use to being photographed before the big day. This is another portrait session outside our studio. It’s great to be a photographer in the NC Mountains!
This Asheville NC wedding photography is from Kaitlyn and Denny’s amazing and rainy wedding day at family-owned Raymonds Garden Center. The garden center provided a beautiful backdrop for wedding photography with all the flowers we could possibly imagine. A lot of rain didn’t keep us from getting lots of wedding photos.
Pixels On Paper were the Charlotte wedding photographers for Rich and Amanda in 2009. Now they are expecting their first child and we are blessed to be providing them with Maternity photography and newborn photography as their family grows. They made the trip from Ft. Mill, SC to Wilkesboro, NC to take advantage of the settings at our portrait studio.
This Bridal portrait photo is still a secret since the Bride’s wedding day has not yet arrived. It’s so much fun to integrate into Bride photos something as special to her as the years of dance that have been a part of her life. It also gives us a great opportunity for creative photography.
Bridal Traditions Wedding and Prom attire needed commercial photography created for their new exclusive line of designer wedding gowns. It was a great experience photographing these beautiful gowns inside our portrait studio. The dresses all seemed like they were in the perfect setting in our historic property.
