After a couple years of planning all of Amber and Wesley’s time and energy came together on one spectacular fall wedding day in the Blue Ridge Mountains at Camp Sky Ranch. The venue itself provided an amazing backdrop and is one of Blowing Rock’s hidden jewels. If you haven’t heard about it you want to read the history here and learn what Jack and his wife Lori have brought to life.
Like many of the weddings we photograph this event was a family affair. Everyone worked together for days to decorate, coordinate, and celebrate the union. Family members baked and decorated the cake and cooked all the homemade southern foods for the reception. Bouquets, floral arrangements and candle decorations inspired by the Autumn surroundings were designed by Denise Brooks of Innovative Occasions.
Let us know what you think of Amber and Wesley’s outdoor wedding pictures. Our blog loves comments!
We are so thankful to have been a part of Amber and Wesley’s special day. They put their trust in our creative photography to capture their day. We could not be any happier with what we were able to capture. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Douglas!

Kristin and Jason’s October wedding was a beautiful nod to her love of all things vintage. There were loads of hydrangeas, lace, studded jewelry, pearls, and diamond details setting the tone. The color pallet of eggplant and pewter looked stunning among the natural setting at Asbury Park Grove. It was also a fun time for us to meet Jason’s family once again after previously photographing his sister Amanda’s wedding and to make new friends with Kristin’s family.
We wish Kristin and Jason all the very best and hope you enjoy this sampling of wedding photos that we have to share.

Having already shot Kevin and Ashley’s engagement photos back in July, we knew that this was going to be not only a fun wedding, but one that promised to give us some great portfolio material with loads of awesome wedding pictures. And they did not disappoint! Ashley was simply stunning and Kevin brought a whole new meaning to the GQ style. You can just tell when couples are “made for each other,” and these two definitely are.
A touching ceremony on the rooftop rotunda at the Holiday Inn Center City Charlotte, in which there were few dry eyes, led into a jumping party in the ballroom. Split Second Sound provided the music, with MC/DJs Rashaad and Neil keeping the party going all night. Kevin even jumped in on the mic to sing along and entertain friends on more than one occasion!
We are so thankful to have been a part of Ashley and Kevin’s special day, and look at the fantastic wedding photos we have to add to our collection! They put their trust in our creative photography to capture their day and told us to “do what you do” and we could not be any happier with what we were able to capture. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Ellis!

OK so we’ve been MIA on the blog scene for a while due to our big move but not to worry, we’ll have more on that coming up soon. In the meantime here is just a small a sneak peek at some of the “work” and fun we were having at Jason and Heather’s wedding last weekend in Asheville at Claxton Farm.
Heather and Jason chose to have a “First Glance” and see each other before the ceremony. Although many are traditionally against it, this is one of the best things a Bride and Groom can do for themselves and their guests. Not only is it the most romantic moment for just the two of them, but it inevitably seems to calm everyone’s nerves before the hectic day that is ahead. A First Glance also allows for more time to be spent getting incredible photographs without the time-sensitivity of everyone waiting on us during the reception. What we love most about these moments is that we capture more relaxed and joyous expressions that we’ve never been able to capture before the ceremony when the don’t see each other.
The moment when Jason first sets eyes on his Bride without being watched by 100s of wedding guests is breath taking. His reaction is genuine and instinctive without being held back. LOVE IT!
There is nothing wrong with wearing a dress and riding a Red Belly Tractor. Growing up my Grandfather had the exact same one and I’m sure I could be seen many times over doing the exact same thing this little cutie is. Another moment that made me smile.
