Hello, Outdoor Lovers and Lovers of all things Pink! Even though we’ve not quite reached the first day of spring, you can almost feel it just around the corner of our part of the North Carolina Mountains. Pixels On Paper Photography has the exclusive use of a gorgeous orchard and for more than a decade we’ve photographed babies, families, proposals, engagement and prom photos there. It’s time to schedule yours with us for spring 2024.
For us, this place is magic and more than a few families have chosen to return with us over the years to chronicle the growth of their children or specific milestones. It’s fresh and pretty and there are loads of places to grab portraits that make heirlooms and perfect Mother’s Day or Grandparent’s Day gifts.
We are now booking sessions for March and April, so contact us and let’s start plotting a session among the blossoms. These sessions are limited and happen only for a narrow window of time based totally on whatever weather Mother Nature throws our way. Get on our schedule early!
We love family portraits whether they are set in the studio, the great outdoors, a specific location like the mountains or high country, or on our property in our outdoor portrait garden. Pixels on Paper photographs, engagements and weddings, brides, and special events and portraits of all kinds in our Wilkesboro, NC studio. We would be honored to meet with you, learn about you and your family and be a part of taking special portraits that will become, we hope, family heirlooms.

We are diving head first into 2024 but not before completing a blog post that recaps the photos of our client’s and friends from 2023. We continue to feel incredibly blessed that so many each and every year trust us to photograph and capture the most important memories of their lives. We met some amazing people, felt like a part of so many of these people’s lives, and more often than not were right there along side of them having just as much fun. We gained numerous friendships last year. 2023 brought senior portraits, family portraits, newborn photography, photos of children, pet pics, and commercial photography both in our studio and out and about on location. We are inpatient when it comes to figuring out what 2024 will bring and excited about the photographs we will capture and designs we will create
The following are a few of our personal favorite images from some of those we photographed in 2023. Enjoy the view!

As we straddle the seasons (what North Carolinians know as “my new daffodils invited the last snow” season), I’m noticing the details everywhere. It got me thinking about the details I love to capture in my photographs. There is always a subject – always a story being told – but it’s the details that we hover over.
In that vein – here are some favorites. Happy Spring, gang! Don’t worry – you’ll get that hour back one way or another.
Engagement portraits speak to love and the anticipation of your public union. But for me, these images are transformed when I can capture the small glances, the body English, the closeness between the almost married. These images take my breath away still.
Maternity portraits are some of my favorites. Mothers in that mode of nesting and at their most happy, full and ripe. But I always encourage the father or father-to-be to take part in front of the camera. The union of the parents always comes through in the images and the details of care and excitement come through.
There aren’t enough blog posts to contain my favorite images of babies being …………. babies.

Yep. You nailed it. I miss you. All of you. I miss the giggling and group hugs that come with family portrait sessions. I miss the waving as we all arrive on site – at the overlook, the property, the park, the orchard, campus or cabin retreat. I miss changing my lenses amid the casual chaos of family dynamics.
Don’t get me wrong. I’ve been plenty busy, but with the holidays over, and the temps around freezing most of the time, this girl just wants to hibernate. The wilderness bear in me takes over and I am inclined to cook, bake, read, create art projects, and sleep exclusively. As long as I can keep these boys I love nourished and healthy……… that’s winter for me.
At some point though, I peep over flannel sheets and think: I MISS EVERYBODY! So let’s talk about planning your photo sessions for this year and find each other again!
Kids! If you haven’t had portraits of your children with their siblings in a while, consider doing it this year. Any season, indoors or out, with or without bows and costume changes, we can make it happen.
Think about the year ahead and contact us to schedule or with your ideas. Let’s do this in 2022!

As we all take the deep breath before “the Season” is in full swing, we’re also making lists of people we love and what they might love to have this year for the holidays. While you’re in that mode, we hope to remind you that portraits make gifts that last a lot longer and mean way more than most gifts we’re being tempted to by.
We are now also taking reservations for At Home Christmas portraits and these not only make popular gifts, the portrait session itself is fun. We LOVE these sessions.
If you have had portraits taken by Pixels, please contact us about canvases, prints, books and cards. We are currently scheduling in home holiday photo sessions, so contact us at 336-990-0080 or email mail@pixelsonpaper.biz and let’s start planning!
