{Meghan + Jeremy } = chapel hill | UNC | engagement pictures

Our first trip to Chapel Hill and the UNC campus was no less than breath-taking.  And not just because of how beautiful the Tar Heel campus is during the Spring but mostly because of the gorgeous couple that we photographed.  Meghan and Jeremy met and graduated from UNC and couldn’t imagine having their engagement photos taken anywhere else. So of course we travel!

These two endured an unusually long session as we dodged huge groups of visiting freshmen and mobs of traffic and pedestrians on Franklin street. But the final shots made it all worth while.

{ Jessica + Tim } = uptown charlotte engagement session

Jessica and Tim will be getting married this Fall in New York, but by way of a wonderful referral from Tim’s former roommate, they asked us to photograph their engagement portraits here in the beautiful south.  Charlotte is a stunning setting in the Spring especially in Fourth Ward where we hopped over to get the second half of our shoot amid the Victorians and a fabulous sunset skyline. These two were so much fun to photograph and are absolutely perfect for each other. We’re happy to share in their excitement and happy to share this beautiful couple with you.

Erica + Andrew – engagement session | charlotte portrait photographer

Meet Erica and Andrew a super sweet couple that will be getting married on June 25th. We met up with them recently on the most beautiful February day in Charlotte at the Whitewater Center to photograph their engagement portraits. They both love each other, their families, God, and the outdoors.  After the gorgeous shots we captured from this e-Session we can’t wait for her bridals and their wedding at the family farm in Boone, NC.

best of 2010 portraits | charlotte portrait photographer | pixels on paper

There is no way after posting the best of 2010 wedding photographs that we could NOT post the best of our 2010 portrait photographs.

We’re passionate about everything we do when there is a camera in our hands but especially about portrait sessions. It’s a rare opportunity to get to know who is in front of our camera when everything is calm (relatively speaking), a schedule isn’t dictating how long we have, and the creative  possibilities are unlimited.

The best moments are when we know we got it, that one shot that captures an overwhelming emotion, a moment in time that will never be repeated, a scene that happened all on its own with absolutely no effort. It always happens. We don’t know when or where but it makes us giddy and forever grateful that God entrusted us with this gift.  Oh yes, we really do have the best jobs imaginable!

We’ll soon be announcing our new referral program that will keep these and others coming back from more. In the meantime enjoy taking a look back through this journey with our amazing 2010 clients.

western NC bridal show follow up | western nc wedding photographer

Our first experience participating in the Western NC Bridal Show was fun! We had a blast meeting so many great people including Brides & Grooms-To-Be, Moms, and other wedding vendors.

Honestly, the whole “solicitation thing” can be uncomfortable for us “creative types”.  We find it difficult to play the role of a pushy salesperson so instead just enjoyed the time of getting to have real conversations with people. We kept it simple by letting our booth and albums show off our photos and style. The best part was getting to hear the ideas, details, and planning process behind the many weddings that will be taking place in 2011, 2012 and even one in 2013! We had two of our awesome 2010 brides on hand in our booth to share their entire wedding experience and answer Bride’s questions first hand.

We hope that those of you who we connected with in our booth will CONTACT US to take the next step in planning your wedding photography!

Here are a few photos of our setup at the show taken just minutes before the doors opened.

If you were a Bride-To-Be that opened one of these, don't forget to book your wedding photography package by February 14th to claim your free stuff!

Thanks to Tamara Hundley Events for our linens.
